    Description

    We are looking for a talented, creative and suitably experienced Admissions Manager to lead our schools admission team.

    As Admissions Manager, you will be the team lead for the Education Admissions Service and have lead responsibility for the council's admissions policy, operational planning, development and direction for the Council's statutory education responsibilities in relation to policy and practice for Schools Admissions and Transfers.

    You will provide specialist advice and guidance on admissions legislation and procedures to a variety of stakeholders, including senior managers and the lead member for Education.

    The role requires the effective co-ordination of the admissions decision-making processes from initial determination through to independent admission appeals and requires effective working with a range of internal and external professional bodies such as legal services and Public Services Ombudsman.

    A key aspect of this role will be to develop close working relationships with Headteachers and schools across the borough as well as other professionals within education in order to help and support the pupils of Wrexham achieve the best outcomes.

    Excellent analysis and reporting skills are essential in this post, as is the ability to manage your own time and work independently. You will be a good communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

    You will be based at the main Education offices at Crown Buildings in Wrexham city centre, with a requirement to travel to different school sites across the Borough.
