We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive digital communications specialist to lead digital and design communications at NUH.

Our teams at NUH make a difference every day and we are proud to play a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of people in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and our surrounding communities.

We provide a range of national and internationally renowned specialist services and we are at the forefront of new surgical procedures and research programmes.

As Digital and Design Communications Lead, you will be responsible for directing how we communicate both internally and externally through our digital channels and design function.

Responsible for a small team, you will lead on a range of digital communications channels, including our public website, our internal SharePoint intranet and our social media platforms.

You will need to be able to advise the organisation on how best to use its digital channels, and be confident in using tools to gather and present analytics.

Graphic design experience is not essential, however, an understanding of the benefits a strong corporate identity has on an organisation is key.

We offer flexible working and are happy to discuss ways of working that supports you and NUH. You will be based at Queen's Medical Centre and will work across the Trust and external sites as needed.

You will also be part of the out-of-hours on-call rota for the communications team, for which there is an additional payment.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will lead our digital and design communications function, managing a small team of creative communicators.

You will lead on the vision and day-to-day management and growth of our public website and internal intranet, working closely with external and internal partners such as our digital services department.

You will work with our graphic designer to deliver creative communications solutions, and be responsible for ensuring we have strong strategies and policies in place for our social media channels.

You will need to be able to advise the wider communications team on the impact digital channels can have in communicating with our 18,000+ staff, and support with training and developments where needed.

We need someone who can use sophisticated CMS systems, and is confident in gathering and presenting analytics from a range of digital channels.

NHS experience is not essential.

What matters most is that you have a want to learn, a commitment to continually improve and a desire to make a difference.

Working for our organisation

We offer flexible working and will agree a way of working that supports you and NUH.

You will be based at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham and will work across all Trust and external sites as needed.

You will be part of the out-of-hours on-call rota for the communications team, for which there is an additional payment.
