A Finance Director is required for an exciting, high-growth Series A-backed business with a high-profile investor portfolio.The company's mission is to empower millions of people to work near what matters to them by building a national network of community-led,'Work Near Home' co-working clubs.
The company has raised £3M in their latest fund round, with the longer-term ambition to grow to 250 co-working clubs across the UK, getting to 50 sites over the next five years.
Having secured £1.1 million in seed funding in the first 12 months of trading, the business closed its Series A earlier this year, raising a further £3m.
Your opportunity
Having recently appointed a Head of Operations and Head of Property, The business is keen to appoint a Finance Director that will form part of the leadership team to support the business's scale and growth.
We believe that finance is a critical function, and we're looking for an individual who can bring a creative, operational and commercialoutlook.
As Finance Director, your remit will be broad and develop with the growth of the businessLikely responsibilities will include:
- Your role will play a crucial part as a business advisor in a range of commercial activities:
- Developing and owning the capital and operational expenditure models
- Supporting future fundraising rounds
- Providing future direction on the equity and debt structure
- Working with the CEO and founding team on a comprehensive range of adhoc projects
- Represent finance and directly engage with investors and external advisors
- Define our nonequity fundraising strategy to reach the first reach five sites, then again to get to 50+. This will require creative thinking with debt, asset financing, landlord agreements and opco/propco structures.
- You will have a curious mind and want to drive insights into KPIs, variance analysis, and the narrative around why results are what they are, along with calls to action where appropriate
- You will take responsibility for developing the reporting, controls and financial framework that will enable us to scale effectively in the future
- We're very openminded about education and background. However, we expect you will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience, ideally from within a startup or scaleup environment.
