    Description:

    Provide legal advice to members and officers of the Council, in relation predominantly, but not exclusively to the following areas of legal practice:


    • Procurement and contracts


    • Partnerships


    • Charities and companies


    • General commercial and contract work


    • G Cloud contracts


    • JCT & NEC


    • Inter Authority Agreements

    including attending and advising decision-making bodies of the Council as required.

    1.3 The effective and efficient preparation and processing in a timely manner of all legal documents (including contracts, agreements, deeds, notices, orders and consents) relevant to the role of the post-holder.

    1.4 Preparation of precedents and checklists and standard forms and the development and implementation of the Council's corporate governance framework.

    1.5 Develop and implement procedures for procurement policy and strategies.

    1.6 Conduct and manage a wide ranging caseload of both straightforward and complex legal work, with a bias towards Contracts, Procurement and Partnerships.

    1.7 Advise and attend partnership and other interagency meetings and case conferences as required, including provision of advice and assistance in the preparation of protocols, policies and procedures.

    1.8 Keep up to date on relevant new legislation, case law, codes of practice, guidance and policy.

    Ideally have experience of working within local government
