Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £29,269 to £31,364 per annum (Grade G) | Norwich


We're looking for someone with strong customer service and financial skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to join the Client Financial Affairs Service as a Client Financial Affairs Visiting Officer.


Part of Norfolk County Council, the Client Financial Affairs Service manages the property and financial affairs of vulnerable adults who have been assessed to lack mental capacity, where there is no-one else suitable, able or willing to undertake this role for them.

This case work role is varied and interesting and involves the following key activities:

  • Developing an in-depth understanding of your clients: their lives, wants and needs, and building positive working relationships with them and their care and support providers.
  • Maximising income and ensuring that benefits are claimed correctly, and problems resolved.
  • Ensuring rent, care fees, bills and liabilities are correct and paid on time
  • Managing the sale of properties, tenancy moves, or moves into or out of care
  • Creating financial statements / spending plans and ensuring that the client receives a personal allowance for their daytoday needs that is affordable and meets their need
  • Making decisions in relation to additional requests for funds by proactively working with clients and their care and support providers
  • Maintaining client and financial records Annual reviews, client visits and completing reports for the Public Guardian
  • Previous experience of working with financial matters, this could come from a variety of paid or voluntary work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders, and deliver great customer service to a diverse range of people
  • Strong organisation skills, ability to prioritise, and work on your own initiative, including the ability to make decisions and problem solve; Knowledge of welfare benefits relevant to the client group
