    Description

    We are pleased to be exclusively representing a large construction group in Gerrards Cross in their search for a Head of Shared Services.

    This is a newly created position taking ownership of the transactional finance team, overseeing 11 people. With the ongoing growth of the business they expect the team headcount to increase by a further 5 appointments over the coming year.

    We're looking for a seasoned people-manager. Someone who's led transactional teams in excess of 8-10 people, preferably in the construction industry, and if they happen to have used COINS it'd be hugely beneficial

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive improvement in Finance Shared Services to ensure best practice within the department and ensure a continuous improvement culture, including identifying and leading efficiency initiatives
    • Ensure standardisation of processes and practices across the business units understanding and documenting specific business unit exceptions
    • Ensure the team stays up-to-date with the processing of all invoices, and KPIs are identified which allows monitoring of invoice processing thereby implementing early warning signs where support is needed from the wider team.
    • Ensure the SSC team provides timely response to internal and external stakeholders and deals with issues in a timely manner
    • To ensure all month-end activities are completed in accordance with the timelines set
    • To be a key contact for auditors and ensure information is provided on time
    • Develop team members and identify opportunities for progression. Build a best-in-class team by continual guidance and coaching
    • To review and approve all payment runs in collaboration with the in-country finance managers
    • Ensure proactive planning takes place facilitating the readiness of the SSC team at all times

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Construction industry experience (Essential)
    • Minimum 3 years experience in building, managing and motivating a large team in a shared service function or large finance department. (Essential)
    • Experience of working in high growth businesses. (Desirable)
    • Part or Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA,ACCA, ACA) (Desirable)
    • Advanced Microsoft office skills. (Essential)
    • Experience of dealing with VAT / CIS (Essential)
    • Experience with COINS ERP (Essential)
    • International experience (Desirable)

    SALARY AND PACKAGE

    • Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 per annum
    • Car allowance: £7,200 per annum
    • Pension: 5% employer contribution (employee minimum is 4%)
    • Private medical cover with Bupa (individual)
    • Bonus: This role is eligible for an annual bonus from 7.5% - 12.5% based on company performance
