JOB PURPOSE
Assist the Head of Department to independently and objectively add value to and improve the operations of the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Head of Department to: perform annual risk assessment; execute a comprehensive risk-based audit plan informed by e.g.
external regulation and Division policy / procedure; prepare effective Audit Reports and audit fieldwork notes; and, follow-up of management actions in a timely manner.
Conduct J-SOX-related activities.
Documentation during all stages of the audit cycle must be sufficient, reliable, relevant, and useful to support results and conclusions.
Keep up-to-date with the latest industry and regulatory trends and apply them to the internal audit practices.
Maintain strong awareness of the UK market rules, regulations and guidelines.
Monitor the Audit Findings Tracking Reports for corrective actions taken by the Branch and group company.
Perform effective audit file reviews as part of the quality assurance requirement.
Perform ongoing monitoring of the risks of the Bank by e.g. attending Committees/Meetings, reviewing internal documents, and report the results to the Head of Department. Off-site Monitoring shall be appropriately maintained.
Perform other duties as requested by the Head of Department or in his/her absence the Chief Representative of HOIAD, or HOIAD.
Share technical knowledge with members of the Internal Audit team.
Use appropriately the internal audit software.
Willingness to perform risk-based audit assignments in areas relevant to the organisation and Subsidiaries, and effectively report the results to the Head of Department, Head Office Internal Audit Department (HOIAD) and Senior Management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
An accounting degree, professional accountancy, internal audit or risk management qualification desirable but not essential.
Strong analytical skills.
Fluent English speaker is essential, Japanese is desirable.
Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management.
At least 3 years experience of delivering risk-based auditing.
SUPERVISION AND REPORTING LINES
Reports directly to the Head of Department or in her absence the Chief Representative, but is expected to exercise considerable initiative, as appropriate.
KEY STAKEHOLDERS
At all levels within the Bank, external auditors and relevant authorities.
