    Product Development Engineer – Permanent PositionSalary: Negotiable, dependent on experience + BenefitsLocation: Westhill, AberdeenshireAbout the opportunityThis role, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and Technical Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the development of cutting-edge products from concept to market release.

    The holder will be responsible for leading the conceptualisation and design of new products.

    This organisation works across a number of key industries including military, construction and nuclear having built strong relationships and reputation over a number of years.


    Key Responsibilities:
    conceptualisation and design of new products, working closely with the Engineering Manager and Technical Director to align designs with strategic objectives.advanced CAD software (e.g. Solidworks) to create a detailed, precision-engineered product designthe development of prototypes, coordinating with manufacturing and testing teamsthorough testing and validation of prototypes.collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including process engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing, ensuring alignment with overall project managers on project progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.materials and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and procurement to select cost-effective materials without compromising products comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and certifications.closely with regulatory affairs teams to obtain necessary the departments across the company to identify cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.detailed documentation of design specifications, test results, and project progress.regular reports, highlighting key milestones and challenges.participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas to enhance product development processes, reduce time-to-market, and improve overall efficiency.

    To be successful in this role, you will need:
    / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.experience in product development within the engineering or manufacturing CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant design tools.understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.problem-solving skills and attention to detail.communication and collaboration regulatory standards and certification processes.
