Role Overview


We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to support to the Forestry and Food & Farming teams in all aspects of their work.

This is an interesting and varied role on a permanent, full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week within a friendly team.

The teams are part of the Rural & Projects division of Savills, covering a large area of the UK.

The role is required to provide administrative assistance to fee earning colleagues and ensure the smooth-running of the team.


Some flexibility in terms of location of the role, ideally will be Newcastle based although Carlisle is also an option.


Key Responsibilities

  • Open, manage and close client instructions on Dynamics (Savills CRM system)
  • Update fee forecasts and assist with raising monthly invoices
  • Assist with financial reports (Aged Time, Expenses and Debtors) and chasing debtors.
  • Administrative tasks including typing, editing, compiling and proofreading documents, preparing minutes of meetings, diary management and appointment booking
  • Liaison with contractors and clients requesting quotes for works, sending works orders and arranging access to properties with tenants
  • Coding and monitoring contractor invoices for prompt payment
  • Travel and accommodation booking
  • Supporting the Senior (Forestry) admin staff in their role.

Key Skills

  • IT skills including Word and Excel
  • Good written, presentation and numerical skills are essential
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
  • Able to work individually or as part of a team
  • Punctual, reliable and enthusiastic
  • Numerate and financially aware
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Proactive, flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • GIS mapping skills would be advantageous
Experience within the land sector will be an advantage however full training will be provided


Team Overview


The Rural division operates across a UK network of 37 offices and a number of estate offices from Inverness in the North to Truro in the South-West.

Our services cover; architecture, building consultancy, rural planning, estate management, forestry, professional consultancy (tax, valuation, expert witness), farms and estate sales and purchasing, food and farming, renewable energy, energy brokerage, mapping and strategic projects.

The Forestry team in the North consists of 8 fee earners, one graduate and one existing Senior Admin who covers Scotland and North region.

The F&F team have 7 fee earners and one support staff member.

This role will assist colleagues mainly based in Newcastle, Carlisle, York but also Lincoln, Peterborough, Telford and Chester offices.
