Spinwell is recruiting for a Communications and Media Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA OFFICER
- This is a key role in our busy Communications Team working on all aspects of internal and external communications through a range of print and digital channels.
- You will work with the head of communications, as well as other communications officers, inhouse designers, head of campaigns and web and digital media officer, as well as our Engagement Team.
- You must be able to work in a fastpaced environment, hit the ground running, have a cando attitude, be highly creative and able to transform often complex content into something easy to understand.
- As well as supporting and driving key campaigns internally and externally, you must be able to measure and demonstrate outcomes for your actions.
- With excellent writing skills, we'd expect you to be able to turn your hand to writing real life articles for our flagship Community Health magazine and gripping copy for our weekly ebulletin for staff, plus be able to manage media enquiries. You must have experience of working with the media.
- You will also be confident in managing social media channels, which we use as a central part of our internal and external communications.
- You will be expected to travel across the areas that we serve as part of this role
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA OFFICER
- Bachelor's degree (BA (BSc) NVQ level 6), ordinary degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience of producing communications in a range of formats for different audiences.
- Proven use of office systems, with advanced use of Microsoft Office, i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
- Sound judgement and logical approach to complex situations, with ability to determine and implement solutions.
- Experience of managing projects and undertaking evaluation.
- Experience of contributing to internal and external event planning.
- Experience of working with the media.
- Specialist knowledge in area of expertise
- Effective leadership, influencing, persuading and negotiating skills.
- Handling confidential and sensitive information in accordance with DPA.
- Design and development of standard and bespoke data reports
