Head of Product
Home based with visits to Bristol 1-2 days per month
£75,000 - £90,000
Plus 5% Pension Contribution, 5% ER Contributions

The Head of Product Management role:
As Head of Product Management, you will be leading our product teams to build world class products and features.

You will ensure the continued commercial success and product revenue growth through the provision of a clear Product strategy incorporating our product portfolio and appropriate Partner products including the identification of new partners with commercial and market fit.


You will build a clear understanding of customers / markets, internal stakeholders, and competitors to drive the Product Strategy, through build, partner or buy propositions.

Owning our product roadmaps, you will drive the development of our People engagement software (Employee Engagement, Core HR, Payroll, ATS) to enable an increase in revenue, profit, brand and retention and a decrease in costs associated with all aspects of products within the remit.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Understanding the Market Sector through building, profiling and analysing a fact base of all elements of product management including key competitors, proving reviews etc.
  • Ensuring the relevant data and conclusions are clearly communicated around the business
  • Internal engagement and communication
  • Engagement of Partners, and Customers to understand their requirements for their product area and to ensure that they are aware of the strategic direction for their product
  • Liaising with Product Managers responsible for other areas and Market Sectors to ensure that any development plans are delivered within a 'Sector Solution' concept
  • Developing a clear Roadmap and Release strategy
  • Representing the customer / business in development choices; by working closely with the relevant engineering teams and making prioritisation calls
  • Full management of the GTM process through other stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Professional Service, Customer Success, Support and Finance
  • Assisting with escalations and being responsible for the provision of information as required to assist the support and complaints teams in resolving escalated issues

About you:


  • 2 years leading a product team and 5 years previous experience with their relevant product area,
  • Knowledge of the HR/People market with a strong background in HR/Payroll and Employee/People Engagement
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce Platform and ISV Community a definite advantage
  • Ideally a CIPD, Business, Economic qualification or a Finance background
  • Clear commercial acumen with a focus on building strategic Product Revenue
  • Ability to plan and prioritise your own and your team's workload
  • Ability to present your own product strategy to both external and internal audiences
  • Ability to identify key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data,
  • Ability to identify patterns from a large variety of sources of information and to interpret these into clear business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good knowledge of using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
