This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established team as a Trainee Design Engineer on a permanent basis in the East Nottinghamarea.

This role will be part of the Earthing team and will be responsible for producing Earthing designs for a range of clients and industries.

The Trainee Design Engineer Role
The Trainee Earthing Design Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Travelling on-site to undertake investigations, report writing, production of outline designs and specifications, along with client, contractor and inhouse liaison.
  • Offer all round technical and support service
  • Survey, Design and Testing of Earthing systems
  • Using Computer Aided design software to help in the production of detailed designs.
  • Liaising with the clients dealing with their project requirements, including design issues.
  • Survey, Test and Design of Earthing systems, using specialist software tools.

About You


You will ideally have experience or a keen interest in electrical installations with a desire to progress into a Design role.


Other requirements include:

  • Strong IT skills with the ability to develop skills with new software
  • Excellent communications skills with the confidence to speak with existing and new clients
  • Ability to review documentation and interpret drawings and technical details.
  • BTEC/NVQ in an Electrical discipline will be highly advantageous
  • Previous experience within Utilities, Engineering or Construction would be beneficial
The company offers an excellent salary up to £30,000pa depending on experience, plus benefits.
