    Description
    Our client is a global engineering business with a site based in Newcastle. They are currently looking for a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis.


    This role will offer an experienced Project Manager the opportunity to work with a global player in the Oil & Gas, Marine and Defence sectors.

    With a business plan to grow within the Renewables sector, you will have the opportunity to work on large global projects across a range of clients creating an exciting and varied role.

    About the Project Manager Role


    Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for managing the client relationship and delivering the project within the baseline targets to ensure the optimum financial result and client satisfaction.


    Implementing the management of projects in accordance with the Project Delivery Handbook and other associated QMS processes including, where applicable, the gate review lifecycle model.

    Ensuring an effective handover from the sales team is achieved, whereby the specification, budget and schedule baseline parameters are clearly identified along with the agreed project execution model.

    Establishing and maintaining the project schedule using appropriate tools such as IFS or MSP.

    Establishing and maintaining the project WBS/PBS and baseline budget in IFS. Establishing and maintaining the project's configuration management infrastructure both in TeamCenter (for technical documents) and SharePoint (for project documents). Establishing the key project stakeholders and define an appropriate communications plan.

    Establishing, developing and managing the project team and any other key resources assigned to the project.

    Establishing and managing the client relationship including progress reporting, query resolution and management of change.

    Deliver projects in line with the contractual obligations, the specifications and the quality/safety requirements, in order to maintain or better the baseline budget and schedule.

    Establishing and managing the project's internal reporting cycle including team reviews, cost tracking, schedule updates, financial forecasting, resource forecasting and management reporting.


    You will be an experienced Project Manager with an excellent understanding of the application of mechanical engineer (or other discipline) in the offshore, marine and/or defence sectors.

    In depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. APM, PRINCE 2) and project delivery lifecycles.

    Demonstratable track record of successful delivery of complex EPC project in the offshore, marine and/or defence sectors.

    10+ years' experience in Engineering/PM of complex design and build projects to clients globally.

    Qualifications/formal PM training such as PRINCE2 or APM.
