Description

Your primary role will be to optimise all content for search engine results pages (SERPs) according to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) best practices.

This means you will write high-quality, engaging content which answers common user queries and paying close attention to key attributes such as title tags, keywords, internal and external links, utilising these attributes correctly to maximise performance.


You will also be required to work closely with SEO strategists to support with quarterly and yearly content strategy creation and put ideas forward for your clients.

Whilst not central to the role, client communication will be another important element of this job.

You will occasionally be required to follow up with clients on outstanding pieces of work which are on review and ensure that you keep the number of late projects to a minimum.


Finally, you'll need to demonstrate a basic knowledge of SEO best practices and an understanding of the strategic goals of your content.


Duties & responsibilities:


Content Writing


You will write optimised content for a range of formats, paying close attention to keywords, SERP features, and SEO best practices.

You will critique your own work and use our range of readability checkers to refine and improve your writing.


Teamwork


You will support the strategists on your various accounts in delivering the content plans for the year and ensuring that tasks are delivered on time.

You will work closely with your line manager to define the strategic direction on content-led projects.


SEO


You will be able to identify which topics and keywords you should target based on the additional information provided by the strategist on your account.


Requirements:


  • Experience in writing for the web.
  • Experience in using a CMS such as WordPress.
  • A good understanding of how to create content that attracts a qualified audience.
  • A sound knowledge of how to create content which improves SEO performance.
  • The ability to write for different formats and create content with specific audiences and purposes in mind.
  • The ability to come up with creative content ideas.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Able to foster strong relationships at all levels.

Desirables

  • Experience in using other content management systems such as Umbraco.
  • Experience in using Google Analytics.
  • Experience in using Canva.
  • Experience in working with design teams and frontend developers.
