    Cook Supervisor

    • 32.5 hours per week, Term Time (Monday to Friday)
    • Permanent
    • Salary: £29, - £29, pro rata / £15.18 - £15.51 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
    Applications are open for enthusiastic individuals interested in the Cook Supervisor position at Kirkwall Grammar School. This role involves overseeing the school meal service, managing a kitchen team, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards, and maintaining food safety protocols.

    Key responsibilities:
    • Preparation, cooking, and service of food
    • Supervision of staff and team management
    • Menu planning and provisions ordering
    • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
    • Record-keeping and cash handling
    • Interaction with school stakeholders
    • Upholding Health and Safety standards
    Applicants should have a Professional Cookery qualification or relevant experience, an Intermediate Food Hygiene Qualification, and familiarity with C.O.S.H.H and H.A.C.C.P. A Health and Safety certification is a plus.

    The successful candidate will showcase strong catering skills, leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of nutritional regulations. The role involves a practical catering assessment, a presentation on healthy eating, and a panel interview.
