    Responsibilities

    • Audit LiuGong products against applicable regulations to ensure products sold in Europe and UK comply with current local laws and standards.
    • Keep abreast of new regulations in Europe and UK (CE/UKCA, Functional Safety, REACH, electric products, etc.) and deliver summaries and recommendations to Global R&D Center.
    • Collect, check, organize and file CE/UKCA certification and other certification information for existing products and new products.
    • Lead the European and UK product and sales teams to compile documentation for local road homologation certification of machines.
    • Participate in European and British Standards and equipment Associations Meetings and play an active role on behalf of LiuGong in the formulation of new or revised regulations.
    • Carry out reviews of relevant patents and competitor intellectual property across European and UK products and provide summaries to HQ.

    Skills Required

    • To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to cover each area of responsibility to a high standard.
    • BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree — Masters degree preferred
    • More than 5 years product development experience or equivalent on hydraulic excavator, wheel loader, or telescopic handler products; minimum 3 years work experience in product regulation / compliance role
    • Proficient in the interpretation and application of the Machinery Directive requirements and related ISO, EU and SAE standards
    • Proficient in the interpretation and application of construction product related standards, such as General Safety, Noise, Emissions, EMC, Functional Safety, Battery, REACH etc.
    • Be capable of carrying out or leading FMEA, Risk Assessment and Design Validation and Verification activities
    • Must be resilient and able to manage oneself effectively
    • Desire for continuous improvement
    • Logical approach of reading and understanding or interpreting standards.
