    Steel Estimator

    Responsibilities:

    • Review project plans, specifications, and architectural drawings to understand the scope of work.
    • Analyse and calculate quantities of materials required for structural steel projects.
    • Prepare accurate cost estimates considering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to gather information for accurate estimates.
    • Research and obtain pricing information for materials, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Identify and quantify potential risks and provide alternative solutions to minimize project costs.
    • Prepare and submit detailed proposals, bids, and bid packages within specified deadlines.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations.
    • Maintain accurate records of bids, estimates, and project documentation.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, pricing, and material advancements.
    • Requirements:
    • Proven experience as a Structural Steel Estimator or in a similar role.
    • In-depth knowledge of structural steel materials, fabrication, and erection methods.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting project plans, specifications, and drawings.
    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Extensive knowledge of estimating software and tools.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Understanding of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
    • Relevant certifications or professional affiliations are a plus
