Description

We have a fixed term post available to support the development of your skills working with pupils with ASD and complex needs in resource bases as well as our mainstream secondary service.

This post has become available due to the post holder taking up a secondment opportunity within the team.

Band 6's working in resource bases will have the opportunity to develop their skills working with a Band 7 therapist on site.


As part of our core SLT offer, we provide a service to children and young people with and without EHCPs.

Our secondary service is well established, and we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in October 2023.

One day Primary Resource base

Two days Secondary Mainstream

You will need:


  • Experience of and specialist skills working with a diverse paediatric caseload
  • Experience of and specialist skills working with a multidisciplinary team
  • Developed clinical skills especially around ASD
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently where necessary
  • Enthusiasm, imagination and initiative
You are not required to have previous experience working in a secondary school setting.

  • Specialist assessment, management and treatment of children with a range of communication needs with and without an EHCP in secondary schools and resource bases
  • Provision of SLT services for a school age population
  • Support and supervision of SLT students and junior staff
  • Opportunities to join working parties to develop your skills in service development


St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provide services from two main hospitals, St George's Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital, and two health centres, St Johns Therapy Centre, and The Nelson Centre.

The Children's Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
