Description

Our Cardiff based planning team is part of our wider South West and Wales planning offer and is working on a wide variety of projects across Wales and the South West.

Their projects include schemes within the residential, mixed-use, strategic, renewables, infrastructure and energy sectors.

Based in the Creative Quarter, our office has easy access to public transport and is in the heart of the City Centre.


You will work on a broad range of planning projects, using your local knowledge to plan and deliver projects of all types and scales.

You should have excellent communications skills, planning experience, technical knowledge and a willingness to learn.

You will be expected to help with planning and delivering projects ranging in sector and scale, joining a supportive team environment with exciting career opportunities.

You will have plenty of client facing opportunities and outstanding professional development whilst gaining exposure to an innovative and exciting inter-disciplinary environment.


About you
To have an impact in the role you will:

  • Conducting research and site appraisals on projects for our client base
  • Assist with coordination of multidisciplinary project teams and project management
  • Draft representations to Local Plans and Supplementary Planning Documents
To succeed in the role, it is likely that you will:

  • Be MRTPI qualified or working towards it
  • Be committed to continuing your professional development with a willingness to learn and progress
  • Have experience of working on residential and mixeduse developments
  • Be collaborative by nature
  • Be commercially minded and able to take on personal responsibility
  • Be committed and have an eye for detail
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be personable and professional with high levels of motivation, ambition and drive
  • Have an ability to manage your own time and workload
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

Additional desirable attributes would be:

  • Knowledge of planning in South Wales and/or South West
  • Some consultancy experience (advantageous); and
  • An interest in business development and networking opportunities.
