Role Purpose:


We are currently seeking to recruit a Finance Clerk who will work as part of a team, responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activity, as directed by the Exchequer Supervisor.

Processing invoices for payment, query resolution, Purchase Card administration, supplier set up, specialist Legal and Property payment management and raising Receivables Invoices and setting up customers.


Key Responsibilities:


Invoice Processing

Supplier Set-Up
New supplier set ups and management of existing suppliers. Liaising with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to expedite set-ups compliantly with contract standing orders.


Receivables (Sales Ledger)
Liaise with internal stakeholders to set up new customers compliantly, and maintain existing customers. Manage the flow of 'requests for invoices' from internal stakeholders and raise these on the Oracle system.


Advice and Guidance


Contribute to the development / enhancement of various Exchequer Procedures and ensure processes are applied in accordance with financial regulations and instructions.

Deliver and take part in training when required.


Systems
Liaising with the Systems Admin team on matters relating to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Take an active role in User Acceptance Testing programmes to ensure Oracle systems / upgrades etc. are applied correctly. Actively assist the Exchequer Supervisor with systems problem solving.


Ad Hoc
Assist with the completion of internal and external audit reviews. Assist with the maintenance of the Corporate Finance Payroll intranet page. Deal with ad hoc requests for data, which can include investigations, analyses and Freedom of Information requests. Ensure all filing is stored and disposed of in accordance with force policy.


Skills and experience:


  • Previous relevant experience in a similar sized organisation.
  • Experience in highvolume Sales /ledger and Purchase Ledger processing.
  • Relevant experience of operating in a fastmoving administration process; checking, coding and inputting.
  • Dealing with large volume data review and queue management.
  • Experience of using a computerbased Sales & Purchase Ledger system.
  • Experience in interrogating a computerised system.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and interpret and advise them to stakeholders.
  • Building relations with partners and stakeholders.
