    Job summary

    Salaried GP(s) for expandingLuton practice, situated on the north side of Luton with excellent transportlinks. We are currently looking for aSalaried GP(s) to join our traditional but forward-thinking friendly practicefor up to 4 sessions per week. You wouldbe working as part of a Multidisciplinary team, caring for a diverse patientgroup in a very well-maintained purpose built practice building. We are a Training Practice and use System 1Clinical System. High QoF achievers.

    Main duties of the job

    The main responsibility of therole include: Undertaking a variety ofduties including:- on call, surgery consultations, telephone consultations,checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork,reports and correspondence in a timely fashion, also when required visitingpatients at home. Making professional,autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within theorganisation. Assessing the healthcareneeds of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factorsand early signs of illness. Developingcare plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with currentpractice disease management protocols.Providing health education.Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards. Collecting data for audit purposes andcomplying with QoF requirements.Delivering enhanced services.Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeatprescriptions. All general duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

    Larkside Practice is a busytraining practice in Luton. We are partof eQuality PCN Network comprising of four local practices. We are looking for a caring, hard working andfocused GP to join our practice, working as part of the team with otherGPs. We have a full administrativesupport team, ANP, Practice Nurses HCA, Phlebotomists, Pharmacist. We host AAA Scanning, CAMHS and Mental HealthLink Worker. We work as a team in abusy, friendly caring atmosphere.

    The working day lasts fromaround until but this can vary. There are many opportunities to work flexiblyor part time.

    What to expect there areusually two sessions with patients held each day, with appointments lastingabout ten minutes each. Youll work aspart of a large multidisciplinary team that can include nurses and pharmacist. Youll make home visits between sessions forpatients who are unable to attend the surgery.Telephone consultations are becoming more common and the use ofdifferent forms of media is likely to expand in the future. We endeavour to ensure a work/life balance.

  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list
  • Up to date with annual Statutory Mandatory Training
  • A full clean driving licence

  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention and screening services
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your annual mandatory training is in date.
