Estimator Stansted, UK


Job Purpose Fundamentally calculating and estimating the expected cost of a project. Ability to project the time frame required to complete a project and additional factors like labour needs, materials and budgets, with an ability to identify an potential setbacks.


Job Accountabilities:


  • Understand the project/program and its requirements
  • Generate timely and competitive estimates
  • Generate critical path production plan based on scope of work received, to generate TAT estimation
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and available tooling in order to develop costing information for development of quotations
  • Develop manhour & material quotations in response to customer request for quotation
  • Provide detailed estimates of work scopes in line with client requirements
  • Provides a point of contact for the customers in reference to RFQ's
  • Liaise with production to ensure estimates are as accurate as possible
  • Develop, maintain, and upkeep library of MPD, SB, AD etc data
  • Analyse past inputs to ensure factor ratios used are relevant
  • Can read and understand aircraft maintenance manuals
  • Excellent communication skills required for customer liaison
  • Ensure any health and safety elements of work scope are identified
  • Work with the Planning team to ensure any major changes to work packs are correctly quoted
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure all RFQs are actively responded to ensure all RFQs
  • Review performance against estimate pertaining to costs associated with contracts awarded
  • Actively support and participate in continuous improvements activities and team meetings

Key Dimensions and Related Job Results:

  • RFQ response time of 7 working days
  • RFQ acceptance rate of 50%
  • Accurate quote against reality (time tracking data) of 15% deviation
  • Accurate input TAT by 5%
  • Active input first time acceptance rate of 95%
  • Active input quote against reality (time tracking data) of 20% deviation

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:


  • A330 Experience essential
  • Proven experience as an estimator or similar position
  • Familiarity with finance and project management principles
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an asset
  • Proficient in IT and use of software

Education:


  • Educated to degree level preferable in relevant discipline

Operating Environment The role is based at the Head Office


The normal working day is between 08:30 and 17:00 on Monday to Thursday and between 08:30 and 14:30 on Friday.

30 minutes is provided for lunch.
