Interim Financial Controller
36 month contract

- £500 - £600 per day
A leading Financial Services business need an Interim Financial Controller.

The company are developing at a good pace and are looking for someone who can seek improvements to existing processes and manage a small team.

You need to have solid experience in Banking, Asset Management or Financial Services and be available at short notice for a day rate contract.

The role will initially be for 3-6 months and commences in March 2023.
The day rate is between £500 - £600 per day (umbrella or PAYE).
The role will be both hands-on, and reviewing the work of the team.

It will involve management reporting, statutory reporting and FCA reporting, entity reporting, tax, treasury and all other aspects related to year end and quarter end reporting.

This will suit an experienced Finance Controller or Head of Reporting / Control, someone who really enjoys the reporting side of finance and leading a year end.

Key duties include:

Mentoring and managing deadlines for a small team of part and newly qualified accountants
Responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts
Accounting policies, processes and financial controls
Managing the audit process
Support with all aspects of month end, quarterend and yearend
Implementation and maintenance of a structured reporting timetable and appropriate reporting formats
Liaison with external regulatory bodies; such as the FCA
Treasury management and payments
Drive improvements and change through new financial controls framework, MI reporting and tighter, smarter financial systems, controls and processes

Alongside BAU tasks there is a need to make improvements and efficiency gains. You will seek to find new and better ways of working and make suggestions on how to improve.
An Organised and flexible approach with good communication skills will work well in this role. You will be communicating with all levels of management and prioritising multiple tasks to tight deadlines
Experience Required
You will liaise with senior partners and colleagues - gravitas is key.
Picking up the role quickly and having a track record of working under pressure are essential. You will be able to prioritise and adapt to change.
