An exciting opportunity has arisen for a medical secretaries assistant in the Cardiology Department at University Hospitals Sussex, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.


This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who relishes a challenge and is keen to use their own initiative.


You will be required to work to a high standard of accuracy and be able to demonstrate initiative in planning your own workload in a way that supports the consultants and wider team.


The successful post holder should have a proactive and friendly attitude and be able to demonstrate substantial administrative experience and be able to meet the main duties of the role as identified in the job description.


You must be able to work under your own initiative, possess excellent organisational skills and be experienced in dealing with confidential information.

This job has a high volume of scanning correspondence onto the Trust paper-light system EVOLVE.


To provide general clerical support to the secretariat enabling them to provide an efficient and effective administrative service to the Consultants and clinical teams.

To provide comprehensive clerical support to the cardiology secretaries and other staff within the department.

Upload signed documentation onto paper-light (EVOLVE) systems.

To assist with outward, internal and external post including sending patient copy letters.

Support with referrals and results processing as required.

To file and retrieve medical notes, signed investigations report and other documentation relating to patients.

To undertake general clerical duties as required consistent with the job provided training has been given.

Provide cover for other band 2 colleagues during times of annual leave and sickness as directed by lead
secretary.
