Azure Applications Architect/Project Manager sought by leading telecoms company based in the city of London.
Role Description:
The Azure Applications Architect will be responsible for (1) Technical lead for the development of a key business opportunity built within the Azure cloud and (2) taking a lead role in the planning and execution of the project including management of itemssuch as scope, agile delivery plans, risks, issues, and opportunities.
Primary role responsibilities:
- Internal technical lead for codevelopment of the solution alongside external partners and internal resources
- Active role in the planning and execution of project including management of items such as scope, agile delivery plans, risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Support assessment of opportunities to exploit and/or integrate existing business and technical capabilities
- Work with business stakeholders and technical SMEs across organisational boundaries to develop project definitions and highlevel solution designs
- Project management tasks collaborating with a mix of internal staff and external partners to successfully deliver project in a matrix management environment.
- Drive collaboration, teamwork and codevelopment
Qualifications
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in leading the development of complex software systems
- Knowledge of developing cloud native solutions using Azure services including Data Lake, Synapse, APIM, and Azure Functions
- Experience of DevOps and automation tooling
- Experience working with external partners alongside internal resources
- Hands on experience of Agile and/or Lean delivery methodologies (e.g., PMI-ACP, Scrum).
- Strong project delivery skills including accurate project planning, delivering to milestone dates, managing resources effectively, and communicating status effectively.
- Experience of setting up and using project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Confluence & Microsoft Teams.
- Strong MS Office skills Incl. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build relationships with technical, business, and senior management stakeholders.
- A high degree of organisation skill with excellent attention to detail.
- A high energy level with a dynamic, positive and 'can do' style.
- An ability to work under pressure against short timescales and provide solid results.
- A background in the fixed or mobile telco operator business would be beneficial.
