Description

Reporting to the Group Chief Executive the Managing Director will assume overall accountability for the strategic development, commercial performance and the success of the Fane Valley Feeds business.

The Role:
Lead the delivery of the company's growth plans in the animal feed sector;
Develop the sales of feed and the wider Fane Valley product portfolio to new and existing customers;
Ensure that Fane Valley Feeds adopts an effective, risk-based approach to procurement of feed raw materials;
Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Fane Valley Feeds manufacturing sites;
To pursue a program of continuous improvement across all aspects of site operations;
To lead, manage and motivate staff in the performance of their duties;
Ensure that adequate financial management systems and controls are in place.


The Person:
Possess a minimum of 5 years senior management experience, within the agri-business sector;
Knowledge of the animal feed manufacturing sector at a local and national level;
Evidence of achievement in an operational management role in a manufacturing environment;
The ability to lead, manage and motivate a team;
Experience of strategic planning; introducing new processes and managing change;
Able to demonstrate business acumen and commercial focus;
Experience of managing relationships with key customers and suppliers;
Strong IT and communication skills;
Enthusiastic, hard working with ability to take own initiative;
Specific knowledge and awareness of raw material markets and animal nutrition would be a distinct advantage.
