An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Qualified Nursing Associate within a very busy Children's Emergency Department treating around 36000 children and young people a year.


On a daily basis we work with the Paediatric team, the acute medical teams, acute surgery, the orthopaedic team and other specialities.

We also work closely with the specialist nurses and play specialists to enable us to offer holistic care.

The Unit also has well established links with KIDS (Kids Intensive Care & Decision Support) based at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Provide and monitor care.

  • Provide compassionate, safe and effective care and support to people in a range of care settings.

  • Recognise signs of deterioration and escalate appropriately
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, providing clear verbal, digital or written information and instructions when sharing information, delegating or handing over responsibility for care
  • Recognise and report/escalate any situations, behaviours or errors that could result in poor care outcomes
  • Administer medications in alignment with NMC standards of proficiency and local policy and procedure
