    Description

    Our Regional civils business are seeking a key addition for the works we are carrying out around Dorset. The programme for 2024 looks very busy and we are fortunate to be working on this long term arrangement. We are a contractor to the highways and transportation sectors delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.

    We are seeking either a General Foreperson capable of playing an integral role in the delivery of this framework.

    You'll be working on.... (what your role and responsibility is)

    Customer Focus:

    • Ensure customer delight by delivering a high-quality projects.
    • Actively engage with customers throughout the project, addressing feedback promptly.

    Brand Promotion:

    • Promote Octavius culture and values, fostering a professional and quality-driven environment.
    • Lead by example, upholding Octavius values in interactions with the team, suppliers, and customers.

    Leadership:

    • Create a unified and positive team environment, prioritizing the development of team members.
    • Supervise and manage contracts according to agreed timelines.
    • Lead by example, promoting a positive attitude, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication.

    People Development:

    • Support the site team, empowering them to align with Octavius vision and safety culture.
    • Encourage continuous learning and growth within the team.

    Process Adherence:

    • Ensure compliance with Octavius systems, legislative requirements, and company policies.
    • Implement and maintain efficient processes, including timely reporting to senior management.
    • Emphasize value-added processes, efficient risk management, and continuous improvement.

    Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage team performance to maximize profitability.
    • Collaborate with the site manager to achieve profitable outcomes within agreed targets.

    Project Management:

    • Efficiently manage project activities, adhering to NEC contract requirements.
    • Promote community relations and engagement, managing defects clearance, and implementing lessons learned for continuous improvement.

    You'll bring... (your wealth of experience & qualifications)

    • A Civil, Structural, or Construction Management background on National Highways or local authority networks.
    • Ideally you'll have worked for a for a tier 1 contracting group with working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, & programming.
    • Lead a team of direct reports assisting their all-round development
    • Have worked on a broad section of disciplines such as groundworks, RC structures, steelwork, and building and can demonstrate a clear understanding in these areas.
    • Understanding of interpreting drawings and demonstratable technical knowledge

    Qualifications:

    • CSCS card
    • IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
