Job summary:

An exciting industrial placement opportunity for an innovative, highly motivated individual to join our Digital Data and Technology Directorate where you will gain valuable experience across our digital services.

Throughout this placement, you will develop skills and knowledge in the following areas;

Software Development
Analysis Management
Software Testing

As a Digital Services Industrial Placement you will be expected to attend the Cardiff office when required (at least 1 day per week) to allow ongoing support and development and to allow you to collaborate with your colleagues.

Job description:

Throughout this placement you will gain experience of the following areas:

Software Development

As a developer on one of our scrum teams you'll be building a combination of web services for our online users, APIs for external software developers to build against and software for our internal users.

You will have the opportunity to work with a range of technologies including
Java, Golang, , AWS and
MongoDB.

Analysis Management
The Analysis Team are responsible for translating business requirements into business solutions.

In this team you will gain experience of ensuring that all system and business components seamlessly integrate to provide business solutions with the flexibility for adaptation to meet new requirements.

Working with teams within Companies House to make sure requirements are fully captured, and to assist in the development and assessment of design solutions for meeting those requirements.

Test Analysis

The Test team are responsible for testing new and existing systems including all Companies House web-based services and internal systems.

You'll gain experience in the execution of manual and automated test scenarios throughout a project's life cycle, track and resolve problems arising from the test process and aid in the creation of full documentation of the test runs and procedures for audit and regression purposes.
