An opportunity has arisen for a permanent part-time band 3 HCSW position on C1 (paediatric) ward at the Grange University Hospital.

C1 is part of the Paediatric unit which includes the Childrens Emergency Assessment Unit, Paediatric inpatient wards, and high dependency.

The post holder may be required to work throughout the Paediatric Unit.

The successful applicant will have a band 3 qualification such as NVQ3, NNEB, QCF3, BTEC National Diploma or equivalent. Experience in caring for children in a hospital setting is desirable but not essential.


The post involves caring for children from birth to 16 years of age with a wide variety of conditions and covering almost all specialties.

Daily restocking, cleaning, managing stock levels, assisting registered colleagues with patient assessment and care, completing documentation are included in the responsibilities of the role.

The successful applicant will need to be available to work days, nights and weekends. This is a busy clinical area where effective time management, prioritising workload and teamwork are essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
