Job Purpose
This role is ideal for someone looking to broaden their career.

You will be contributing to and supporting the delivery of a high-quality service within the Highways Operation Centre working flexibly across multiple tasks.


Role Responsibilities


Our Contact Centre Advisers play a key role on the front line of our business, processing a diverse volume of enquiries.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Handling and processing a wide range of enquiries effectively and efficiently.
  • Accurately logging and updating enquiries on our database system to maintain accurate records, ensuring information is correct and up to date.
  • Manage customer expectations.
  • Consult a wide range of data sources to identify the correct course of action for the customers enquiry.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Escalate enquiries appropriately as required.
  • Work closely with other teams within Hampshire County Council to help resolve enquiries.
  • Support the oneteam ethos across Highways Operation Centre.
  • Help to embed and commit to our work values.
  • Develop and maintain service knowledge to ensure accuracy is maintained.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Good communication skills and ability to adapt style to meet the needs of the intended audience.
  • Good IT skills: understanding basic functions of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • A team player, happy to help and support others and share information.
  • Good telephone manner and confident when speaking to customers.
