As a General Teaching Assistant (TA) you will be a valuable member of our local school's teaching staff, providing support to teachers and students in the classroom.

As a General Teaching Assistant (TA), you would be responsible for assisting the teacherin a variety of tasks, including grading papers, leading small group activities, and providing individualized instruction to students.

You may also be responsible for setting up and organising the classroom, managing student behaviour, and helping to createa positive learning environment.

The role will include but is not limited:

  • Getting the classroom ready for lessons
  • Listening to children read, reading to them, or telling them stories
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Supervising group activities
  • Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
  • Be patient and willing to build relationship with children
  • Have an empathetic nature
  • Have experience working as a general teaching assistant (preferably)
  • Good behaviour management
  • An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
