1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant


We work with a Primary School in Cheltenham who are in need of a SEN Teaching Assistant to join them.

This role is needed to start immediately and will be working 1:1 with a child in KS1 who has SEN.

The needs of the child are quite complex and so the role will involve ensuring the child is kept focussed on their work and kept safe.

The role is full time and will run from on a daily basis.

The school is a large school and part of a federation so has brilliant resources and room for development. It is based on the outskirts of Cheltenham, with good bus connections to the centre.

The school needs someone who is confident in their ability to manage behaviours well and use their initiative to ensure the child is supported in the best way possible.

Previous experience of working with SEN is crucial for this role.


What will you need to do on a daily basis?

  • Working with pupils either in a 1:1 or group capacity
  • Build effective, trusting relationships with children
  • Be flexible, adaptable and able to act proactively to unpredictable situations
  • Be reflective and fully committed to continued professional development
  • Foster excellent working relationships with staff, parents and other professionals
