We have a fantastic opportunity in our
Streetworks Team for a
Process and Communications Officer.

You will join us and develop a stakeholder management and Communications Strategy to drive customer focussed process improvement and innovation, through customer focussed reviews, and engaging with our many and varied stakeholders including through social media and digital content.

This is a fast-paced role which requires someone who is highly organised and can effectively prioritise their own workload.

You will require the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, whilst ensuring work output is to a consistently high standard.

The role will be a mixture of stakeholder management, communication and process development and you will be required to know which tools to utilise, and when, in order to ensure momentum is maintained.


About Us


The Highways and Transport Service is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway and transport assets.

The role of the Network and Asset Management Group is to develop and deliver asset management, manage highway networks and set local policies.


The Streetworks Team, within the Network and Asset Management Group, helps Surrey fulfil its Network Management Duty under the Traffic Management Act by Coordinating and Inspecting works in progress on the road network.

Based at the County Council's Network Management Information Centre (NMIC) in Leatherhead, you will report to the Traffic and Streetworks Manager and will become an integral part of the Streetworks management team.


The service operates in an environment with significant political and resident engagement, and has daily contact with MPs, Cabinet members, backbench Members, and residents, as well as organisations who carry out work on Surrey's road network, both our own contractors and utility companies.

Excellent customer service is standard, and you will be expected to embrace this in your approach, ensuring the team put the customer at the heart of everything they do.


About the Role


Your role will be to engage with all those who are impacted by Streetworks in Surrey to ensure they have easy access to information about what the team do and to highlight the limits of what they are able to do within legislation.

You will provide support to the Team Manager, as well as the management team, by developing communication and engagement strategies and work with the whole team to ensure the customer is at the heart of everything they do.
