Description

Senior Regulatory Advisor required for the Regulatory Policy function of our global Financial Services client.

The team provide independent advisory and review services in relation to matters of Accounting and Basel-based Regulation for a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

As a result of this focus, Policy plays a key role in client advisory activities and major Firm projects, helping to shape and influence the future strategy of the Firm.

Based in Glasgow, the role will primarily focus on Regulatory Policy, providing the opportunity to be at the forefront of developments in Regulation impacting the UK and beyond, including Basel IV and the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR 3), and will also cover advisory support on accounting topics.

Primary responsibilities:

Global lead for Regulatory Policy Management, working with senior stakeholders in the US and EMEA.
Playing a central role in managing the team's global regulatory horizon scanning process, including technical review of new publications and communication to management and key Firm stakeholders.
Taking a lead role in the implementation and roll out of a new digital tooling solution for the team's regulatory horizon scanning process, including liaison with internal management and thirdparty provider.
Trust advisor, working alongside crossfunctional teams on major Firm implementation projects, including Basel IV and CRR 3, in addition to assuming responsibility for the resolution of adhoc advisory queries from internal stakeholders covering both regulation and accounting matters.
Training internal stakeholders on technical matters, including key regulatory updates identified through the team's horizon scanning process.
Developing SME knowledge across US and EMEA regulations.

About you

Qualified CA/CPA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS or other professional qualification
Knowledge of Baselbased Regulation, and a keen desire to develop SME expertise in areas of regulatory policy.
Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate technical material to various levels of experience/knowledge both in written and verbal form.
Selfmotivator with the ability to balance own priorities alongside supervision and coaching of direct report.
An interest in working in a fastpaced environment, often balancing multiple high priority deliverables.
