Description

This modern and dynamic Organisation is looking for a Finalist or Qualified Accountant to take the lead in a progressive Management Accountant role.

This role will undertake a Business Partnering function.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and supervising one member of staff. Hybrid working options.


The Management Accountant has overall accountability for preparing, developing, and managing all aspects of the monthly management accounting, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting as well as providing support for the annual Business Planning cycleand year end audit and statutory accounts.


Key Responsibilities:

The duties of the Management Accountant include the following:

  • Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth via the monthly management accounts
  • Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making for each budget holder on a monthly basis
  • Build strong and positive relationships with senior staff and provide them with the necessary assistance and professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties
  • Prepare accurate and timely management accounts and support the statutory audit preparation
  • Partner with operational colleagues to contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting & business planning
  • Manage capital expenditure and maintain the fixed asset register for all asset classes
  • Produce financial statements including P&L accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns and annual adjustment
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
  • Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
  • Accountability for cash flow and production of forecasts
  • Review monthly reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Assessment of monthly expenses and credit card spend
  • Production of relevant commercial analysis e.g., margins and pricing
  • Review & assist development with investment / project appraisals
  • Lead and line manage the Assistant Management Accountant, allocating work appropriately and providing guidance and support

Person Specification

Essential

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Ability to collect and interpret financial and operational data to assess efficiency and effectiveness, undertaking analysis and reporting and making recommendations as appropriate
  • Thorough understanding of management information systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate and influence with people at all levels, both financial and nonfinancial
