    Lanpro is a market leading multidisciplinaryconsultancy who specialise in Planning Design and theEnvironment.

    We workon projects at all scales within town semirural and rural contextsacross a variety of sectors that includes residential historicsites and estates renewable energy and mixeduse commercialdevelopments.

    We have anexciting opportunity for you to be an integral member of a smalland growing ecology team working closely with our Director ofEcology and our senior ecologists. Ecology and biodiversity is arelatively new offering for Lanpro complementing our strongplanning and design capability. The role will suit you if you areselfmotivated enjoy site surveys are excited by a dynamic role andplaying an integral part in helping to build ateam.

    We are looking forAssistant and Consultant Ecologists across our Norwich London andCambridge offices. We welcome applicants from both consultancy ornonconsultancy backgrounds who have either academic or vocationalqualifications.

    JobPurpose

    As anAssistant or Consultant Ecologist you will work closely with oursenior ecologists and design teams to deliver ecology andbiodiversity surveys and assessments. This will include sitesurveys data processing and reporting. You will also have theopportunity to develop your clientfacing skills and will gainexperience in the whole projectlifecycle.

    You willhave a sound understanding of relevant legislation and policy willbe proactive in keeping yourself up to date with the latestdevelopments and will be able to apply this to your professionalrecommendations. You will have an understanding of the implicationsof the Environment Act 2021 and will have some experience of UKHabitat surveys and the biodiversity metric. You will have apassion for the discipline and we welcome applicants who are eithergeneralists or are pursuing particular specialist areas ofinterest.

    KeyResponsibilities

    Assistour senior ecologists design teams and project managers in allecology and biodiversitydeliverables;

    • Assist with habitat andspecies surveys;
    • Lead simpler surveys and/orsurveys in your area of specialism;
    • Communicateclearly and in a timelymanner;

    Reportwriting;

    • Carrying out desk studiesconsultations research data management andanalysis;
    • Helping to scope proposals and workup fees;
    • Health and safety riskassessment;
    • Helping with the daytoday efficientrunning of the team and taking on some wider responsibilities e.g.booking equipment work planning team eventsetc.;
    • Proactive participation in teammeetings.

    Qualifications& Experience
    In excess of one yearrelevant UK experience.

    • Drivinglicence preferred.
    • CIEEM membershippreferred.

    • Teamplayer;
    • Excellent communicationskills;
    • Able to undertake site work includingstaying away from home if required (with expenses paid by thecompany);
    • Confident and motivated to work bothalone and as an assistant;
    • Naturally wellorganised good at prioritising and meetingdeadlines
    • Good attitude to health safety andwellbeing;
    • Strong report writing and dataanalysis skills;
    • Developing commercialknowledge;
    • Knowledge of relevant legislationand policy.
