    Anexciting opportunity for a clinical/counselling psychologist/experiencedCognitive Behavioural Therapist with a passion for working creatively andcollaboratively within Early Intervention in Psychosis team.

    We are a diversegroup of practitioners offering a wide range of therapeutic modalities to allowus to tailor our approaches to meet service users need.

    We see people aged14-65 who are experiencing a wide range of psychological/mental healthdifficulties predominantly relating to psychosis. A qualifying level course inPsychotherapy or equivalent at masters level, or a Doctorate (or recognisedequivalent) in Clinical or Counselling Psychology is required.

    Additionalqualifications in EMDR and/or the ability to work in an integrative mannerwould be desirable. However, further clinical training opportunities willbecome available and there must be a willingness to undertake this.

    Main duties of the job

    The rolewill identify and deliver relevant treatments and interventions, liaising whereappropriate with families, carers and the professional networks.

    Candidateswill require experience of initial assessments, risk assessments, discharge andfollow up and should be able to demonstrate a good level of initiative and anability to work with a range of different presenting needs.

    We are committed tocollaborative multi-disciplinary work and maintain positive links withpartnership agencies within the local area. The post will be supported throughregular formal supervision, appraisal and training with professional advice andguidance available from all team clinicians.

    Job responsibilities

    The post holderwill provide specialist psychotherapy skills within a multidisciplinary team.The post holder will provide a high quality clinical service to the users ofthe service.

    They will providehighly specialist assessment and intervention while working collaborativelywith non-psychology and psychotherapy professionals from other agencies andcarers. They will be clinically responsible to a senior clinical psychologistor psychotherapist. Clinical oversight of all work will be held by the clinicallead in the service.

    The job plan willbe delivered in the services the post is based.

    The post holderwill work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall frameworkof the team while observing Trust and National policies and procedures.

    The post holder will utilise research skills in audit, servicedevelopment and research relevant to the post.

    To offer consultation, supervision and training when required by otheragencies involved in the psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being ofpeople referred to the service.

    To provide consultation, assessment and intervention in the service.

    To work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary context.

    To provide assessment and treatment options for people experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems .

    To exercise expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence based practise.

    To continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills using training, experience, and supervision.

    To provide specialist risk assessment of and intervention to people who present to the service.

    To follow appropriate Adult and Child Protection guidelines in all Clinical work, including close liaison with all agencies.

    To liaise and consult with the wider professional network in the care of the client.

    To work jointly with other team members in delivering the most appropriate clinical service to people and their families.

    To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.

    To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care and to effectively evaluate progress.

    To receive regular professional supervision from a senior Clinical Psychologist or psychotherapist and where appropriate, other senior clinicians.

  • Registered qualification in core mental health/social welfare profession OR Honours Degree in Psychology and completion of Low Intensity IAPT Training and Knowledge/Skills and Attitudes Accreditation with BABCP.
  • A Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy plus additional training and experience in offering CBT for psychosis or Complex cases.
  • Eligible for Registration/ Accreditation with the relevant professional/accrediting body for the model of psychotherapy relevant to this post UKCP, ACAP, BABCP.
