    Riverside East : Assistant General Manager (AGM)

    Location: Riverside East (on-site)

    Reports to: General Manager

    Rate of pay: £38K

Our core business is operating festival & event bars, brand activation and conjoined retail-led F&B solutions to the UK's best festivals and outdoor events such as British Summer Time, Camp Bestival, All Points East and many more.

    Riverside East

    Based in the heart of the iconic Olympic Park this venue will be re imagined to become a multi functioning destination F&B space, comprising of the large outside courtyard area which will host a range of events from fan zones to Sunday markets all year round with innovation such as self-service Beer Taps as well as a wide range of entertainment.

    Food offerings will be provided by a group of curated street food traders offering varied food options from the courtyard area. The indoor offering will come through a fully refurbished 2 storey café / restaurant space with the ground floor serving the varied passing trade from dog walkers, runners and students with a grab-and-go and small but inspiring seated all day brunch style menu. Upstairs features a stunning internal space with a large roof Terrace overlooking the area, this will deliver both evening dining, weekend brunch and Sunday roasts as well as being a bookable space for events.

    The venue has a seated dining capacity of 260 and will be open all year round with a late license available as required. Being both a food and drink led venue with programmed entertainment across both indoor and outdoor spaces, this is a great spot for families, students and sports fans whilst also being a place for the community and a destination for foodies and coffee lovers. It will feature a large screen where live sport can be watched and host fans before attending events at the Olympic Stadium, Copperbox arena, ABBA arena and other local attractions.

    The Role:

    Due to rapid business growth and increased operational demands, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an AGM (Assistant General Manager) to join our new F&B venue Riverside East.

    We are seeking a dynamic, highly organised and driven individual to take service quality accountability at Riverside East, working collaboratively with the General Manager to deliver excellent standards in all aspects of service. This role will also entail back of house elements such as profit/loss understanding, GP% management, budget control and staffing and people management.

    Core Accountabilities

    SERVICE

    • Ensure high standards of service are developed and maintained throughout the venue.
    • Liaising with the General Manager to ensure food, beverage standards are met at all times.
    • Ensuring that floor and bar service areas are consistently prepped for service.
    • Been fully present on the floor during hours of service.
    • Have the confidence to make service decisions.
    • Ability to run multiple departments, sometimes simultaneously.
    • Extensive knowledge of bar & restaurant operations.

    BACK OF HOUSE

    • Profit & loss analysis
    • Stock analysis
    • Sense check for stock and consumables ordering
    • Rota management
    • Maintaining supplier relationships

    PEOPLE AND STAFFING

    • Ensure staffing levels are always at the correct levels and to budget, and people are recruited into the right roles
    • Committed to delivering the Venue's socio-economic plans of hiring within the local area and nurturing talent to create careers for local people
    • Positive Leadership Qualities

    OTHER

    • Creative input on menu development
    • Maintaining effectiveness of the EPOS system

    Knowledge/Experience

    ESSENTIAL

    • Minimum 3 years Managerial experience in a similar environment (festival/stadium/venue)
    • Personal License Holder
    • Budget and HR management experience
    • Comfortable with excel
    • Extensive knowledge of restaurant/bar operations
    • Staff and rota management
    • Passionate about operations
    • Sound understanding of EPOS systems
    • Stock management experience
    • Strong organisational and administrative skills
    • Extensive knowledge of compliance
