The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 rehabilitation assistant to join our motivated and highly skilled multidisciplinary team and work on neuro rehabilitation ward at Charing Cross Hospital.


The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is a Regional Neurosciences Centre, as such, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in providing high quality care for patients with varied neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, brain tumours, and spinal cord injuries.


As a rehabilitation assistant on this team, you will perform administrative and clinical duties to support the occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists.


The Trust has a strong commitment to education, and training and you will be given every opportunity to develop your clinical and managerial skills.

You will also be provided with support from qualified staff to develop your competencies to meet the job role.


The post-holder is expected to be professional, efficient, effective, and committed to Continuous Professional Development and to contributing every day to improving healthcare.

You must be an effective communicator, with excellent people, and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams as your role will include liaising with multiple members of the MDT and with patients and their family members.

Good time management and administrative skills will also be necessary to be successful in this role.

Prior experience of hospital-based support work in a clinical setting is essential. Additionally, experience working with people with neurological conditions and working within a multidisciplinary team would be beneficial.


The aims of the role are as follows:

  • To assist the therapists to deliver high intensity, specialist neurological rehabilitation to patients with complex cognitive, behavioural, emotional and physical needs.
2. to be responsible for and manage a delegated clinical caseload.
3. to achieve and maintain competencies through skills and knowledge development.

4. to perform non-clinical and administrative duties within the department as required.
