    Description

    Main Purpose: -

    Responsible for delivering the Quality strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost, and delivery, optimising production quality levels and supporting operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Implement all relevant procedures described in the Business Management System (BMS) and ensure compliance.

    Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.

    Undertake internal process and product audits of the Business Management System (BMS).

    Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.

    Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures for external or internal issues.

    Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.

    Reporting to the customer the status of customer claims and ensuring alignment between the customers and Wipac.

    Update quality documentation and communicate any carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns.

    Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.

    Establish and refine quality sign-off instructions, standards, and documentation.

    Report against agreed quality metrics on a weekly and monthly basis.

    Manage all quality-related issues with the manufacturing and Wipac team.

    Manage the scrap reduction programs in line with the business targets.

    Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality.

    Attend various meeting and action/communicate instructions.

    Produce written reports and make presentations.

    Support the engineering change process ensuring the quality deliverables are met.

    Responsible for the customer PPAP submissions to customer and wipac requirements.

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    Significant experience in a medium volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.

    Desirable technical degree minimum HNC.

    Strong demonstratable problem-solving skills (8D, PPS and advanced problem solving).

    Strong knowledge of the latest Automotive tools and techniques.

    Strong APQP experience that match WIPAC customer portfolio.

    A detailed understanding of IMDS.

    Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.

    Excellent leadership and man-management skills.

    Excellent interpersonal skills.

    Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.

    Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

    Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.

    Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.

    Commercially aware.

    Inspection background able to use measurement equipment and understand technical drawings (GD&T).

    Sector product and process knowledge.

    IAFT 16949 auditing experience essential (VDA optional).

    Microsoft Office Predominantly Excel, PowerPoint,

    Minitab experience.

    Excellent Interpersonal Skills.

    Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

    Able to communicate and build relationships from shop floor to director level.
