Description
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Supervised Contact Service, part of Children's Services in Cambridgeshire. We offer meaningful family time for children removed from the care of their parents, due to neglect and abuse. Family time is a deeply complex and at times a traumatic experience for children.

We work to balance the need to maintain relationships with birth family, supporting our children to retain their sense of family history and identity and to create positive memories whether they are able to return to the care of their parents or not.

What will you be doing?
Our work takes place across the County, in Council Family Time venues and within the local community.

Family Time workers often travel across the County transporting our children to and from the venues and supporting them and their families during the family time.

The workers contribute to the ongoing assessment of the family and incorporate lifestory work into their everyday practice.

About you
We are seeking experienced and self-motivated people to join the Team.

Applicants need to have experience of working with children and be able to engage with children and parents at times of distress and heightened emotion.

The successful applicant will need excellent time management and organisational skills to manage their own workload.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for the role, as well as a basic level of IT literacy.

We are committed to your career and professional development, so you will receive formal and impromptu supervision, an annual appraisal and access to a range of training opportunities.

We also hold monthly practice meetings which are an opportunity for learning, sharing and development.

For further discussion please contact Anna Mayes on , Danni Impey on or Andie Markham, on

Interviews are planned for week commencing 31st July.
