Job description:


The Workday Business Technical Team together with an ERP Technology Team form a multi-disciplined Workday Centre of Excellence which provides a joined-up approach to delivering Workday services and solutions to SLC.

The Business Technical Team is the first line of escalation and support for all SLC employees in relation to Workday issues.

The key job purposes of the Workday Business Technical lead are:


  • To ensure the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of Workday by leading a team of Workday Specialists to maintain, update and configure Workday functionality in support of business requirements.
  • To provide expert technical advice and guidance to senior business stakeholders in relation to all aspects of Workday in the context of SLC business.
  • To support the Business Technical Team to expand the scope of inhouse skills and expertise to enable selfsufficiency in terms of Workday Support to SLC.
  • To liaise with external providers where appropriate escalation or niche expertise is required

SLC offer a Blend working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

Person specification:


  • Degree level education or equivalent experience in HR, Finance or Commercial disciplines.
  • Significant experience in a Finance, HR and/or Commercial department.
  • Experience and technical systems knowledge of Workday or other ERP solutions
  • Ability to develop and implement ambitious strategies to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Experience of change and release management.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to work with internal teams and the TG Centre of Excellence colleagues.
  • Ability to build highly effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels across the organisation and externally.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Demonstrable people management experience with the ability to lead, coach and develop individuals
