About Our Client:

Our client have over 200 payments nationwide


Key responsibilities:

  • Dealing with a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with customers and branches
  • Working closely with the branches and external customers to resolve queries
  • Creating and sending appropriate chasing letters to customers when necessary
  • Placing accounts on stop and taking accounts off stop at the appropriate times
  • Liaising with branches and senior management regarding the payment performance of some accounts that may require assistance in collecting debt
  • Escalating any issues to regional credit managers or branch managers where necessary
  • Reviewing aged debt to minimise outstanding balances
  • Account reconciliation and query resolution
  • Prompt production and dispatch of statements
  • Ensuring all procedures and company credit policies are followed relating to all aspects of the operation of customer sales ledger accounts at all times
  • Credit limit increases on accounts using credit agency facilities
  • Ledger reviews focusing on over 90day debt and unallocated cash
  • Cash and credit card payments
  • Dealing with escalated and complex issues with customers in a positive manner
  • Checking legal indicators and preparing accounts for litigation
  • Monitor levels of bad debt ledger write offs
  • Diary notes and follow up reports

The Successful Applicant:


  • ICM would be advantageous
  • Experience working within a busy credit control environment dealing with a wide range of customers
  • Account reconciliation
  • Dealing with intricate accounts would be preferable
  • Previous cash collection experience essential
  • Ability to deal with high inbound and making high outbound calls
  • Microsoft Office
  • General sales ledger software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Problem solving and mathematical skills
  • Experience in a similar role
