3C ICT is our shared IT service between Cambridge City Council, Huntingdonshire District Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council.

The shared service was established in April 2016 to provide a more efficient way of delivering ICT services across the three partner councils and has now matured into a reliable and efficient operation.


Our vision is to help our council partners standardise, automate, integrate and optimise their IT systems to help them gain the best possible business benefit from their investment whilst maintaining the strictest standards of security, privacy and flexibility.

This approach also helps them realise the combined economies of scale of working in a local government partnership.


Ultimately our work improves outcomes for local residents and businesses giving our staff the opportunity to feel that they are contributing to the local area in a positive way and supporting those most in need through difficult times.

Job details:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our IT service desk support team.


This is a great introductory role to working in IT and you will be working in a help desk environment helping our staff with a variety of IT issues and questions.


The individual will be providing first-line Service Desk / Help Desk support within the ICT Shared Service to customers across the three councils.


Daily tasks will include:

- analysing and resolving IT incidents with a varying degree of complexity
- to maintain system performance across the authority's IT estate
- assist with access control configuration to 2000+ users across the partnership
- to provide support for in excess of 50+ corporate systems.

You will work 37 hours per week from Monday to Friday, we offer hybrid working.

Please note that this role requires the postholder to have a satisfactory DBS check.
