Central Birmingham Spring (CBS) is a family run business based in Cradley Heath, Waterfall Lane Trading Estate.

Due to the expansion of the company, we are currently searching for someone to cover the position of Apprentice Spring Technician, that involves the manufacture of springs, pressing and wire forms of all parts of CBS.

For this role a confident and purposeful behaviour it is required, in order to be complaint with our vision of becoming a leading UK manufacturer of springs and pressings by creating a great company and a great place to work.

The employee will be expected to learn all production aspects of the business and highlight areas of improvement to the business to increase quality and efficiency.

The day shift is 7am to 4pm or 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday (depending on the needs of the employee), and 7am to 1pm on Friday.

The skills required are:

Manual handling
Able to frequently lift loads of up to 15Kg

Timekeeping

Excellent timekeeping is required for the business needs

Dexterity

Ability to hold, handle and inspect small parts

Communication Skills

Clear verbal and written communications in English
Good manner with employees,

The key accountabilities are:

To develop and maintain relationships with staff and ensure a happy healthy environment
To collaborate with colleagues to get the best use of machinery and maintain delivery targets
To ensure the workshop is left clean and equipment, samples, tooling is returned after use
Assist with development of apprentices by passing on skills
Ensure that parts produced are inspected and conform to drawing, sample, job card.

From bench work with Hand tools to manual coiling and setting machines, each spring type has various processes defined to complete the job and the employee will be trained to follow the whole process.
