    Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9am - 5pm (30 min lunch break)

    Technical Administrator - What You'll be Doing Each Day:

    To work with and support the Technical Manager in ensuring food safety compliance within the business. The role is predominantly focused on administrative tasks which include but are not limited to: creating, maintaining and updating records, labels and product specifications. The role requires assisting the Technical Manager to comply with the relevant regulation's relation to the storage and distribution of our products. The Technical Administrator will also be required to deputize in the Technical Manager's absence.

    Technical Administrator - Responsibilities:

    • Provide support and guidance to ensure food safety and product labelling compliance in accordance with regulations, customer and business requirements.
    • Efficiently handle and manage all customer complaints liaising with suppliers and customers.
    • To assist with technical training of relevant staff ensuring full understanding of all food safety, quality and legal requirements and Internal Processes and Procedures.
    • To assist with implementation and maintenance of the BRCGS Storage and Distribution accreditation.
    • Carry out finished goods product checks against artwork or product specification at goods intake.
    • Work closely with the warehouse to ensure the highest possible standards of health and safety, hygiene and internal procedures are followed.
    • Work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure that all product labels, artwork and specifications are compliant with existing legislation and requirements. Ensure externally supplied products are relabelled to comply with UK legislation.
    • Be responsible for all stickers to relabel all products correctly according to internal procedures and external guidance.
    • Collate Packaging Data for internal and external data reporting on internal sheets as well as external reporting platforms.
    • Organise sample for product testing.
    • Process control paperwork view.
    • Assist Technical Manager on critical projects and be able to manage and prioritise.
    • Action customer requests related to product details in a timely manner.
    • Collaboratively work with suppliers to ensure Product and Packaging Specifications are completed and assist where necessary.
    • To assist with Artwork Approval Process from start to finish.
    • Work cross functionally with other departments Marketing, Purchasing, Warehouse on tasks and projects.
    • Represent and work from a technical perspective on NPD/EPD.
    • Assisting on projects for own label brands, managed brands and private label.
    • To provide assistance to the Technical Manager with administrative support, keep and maintain technical records.

    Technical Administrator - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

    • Degree in Food/Nutrition/Product Development or similar
    • Fluent spoken and written English
    • Strong IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Great attention to detail and accuracy
    • Experience of UK labelling compliance or UK labelling requirements
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organisational skills
    • Ability to work to deadlines and be able to prioritize and manage workload
    • 1-2 year experience within the food industry or in a similar role - desirable
    • Understanding or experience of BRC requirements – desirable
