An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated nurse to join our team on the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This is a regional centre providing acute coronary care services for patients from Durham and Tees Valley in addition to the local population. Experience is preferable, but not essential as the successful applicants will have opportunity to develop their clinical skills supported by in-house training.

The CCU is committed to the advancement of acute cardiac services and applicants should be supportive and enthusiastic towards developments.

The applicants must be committed to providing a high standard of patient care, and also to their own professional development. He/she will have excellent communication skills and supportive and open to new initiatives.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the specialist care of a patient or group of patients assessing, development, implementation and evaluation of care. They will be required to offer clinical support to the sister and staff on duty throughout the 24 hour period. The main responsibilities of the role will be related to specialist clinical expertise within the acute Coronary Care setting with an emphasis on training and development of junior and new staff. The post holder is expected to be part of the trust cardiac arrest team.
