    Accountable to: Operations Manager/CEO

    Hours of work: 21 hours per week (flexibility & occasional residential trips required)

    Salary: £15,585 per annum

    Purpose of the Post

    We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic person who believes in the potential of young people to join our Young Carers Support Service. We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated applicants with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate a commitment to partnership working and an understanding of Young Carers.

    The role will involve supporting the Young Carers Officers in the preparation and delivery of the Young Carers Groups, which take place in the urban and rural area, both during the school day and in the evenings; and in the delivery of school holiday respite through short break day trip and residential opportunities. The role will also involve undertaking regular reviews with the Young Carers the Service support, to get a true reflection of their caring roles.

    This post is temporary until 31st March 2024, with the possibility of extension beyond if funding is secured.

    Support the Young Carers Officer – Short Breaks and Young Carers Rural Officer to deliver a programme of activity based, age related group meetings for Young Carers and carry out relevant issue-based work. Responsibilities within this would include:

    – Creating group activity plans.
    – Purchasing group snack (funds for this will be provided).
    – Collecting group resources and setting up the activities before Young Carers' arrival.
    – Taking registers.
    – Ensuing general health and safety within the group setting.
    – Recording attendance on Stirling Carers Centre's database system.
    – Completing support review appointments for Primary School age Young Carers.
    – Support the delivery of school holiday short break day trip/residential activities.
