We are seeking a Production Co-ordinator to work within our manufacturing facility in King's Lynn. Optima Metal Services is a Multi Metal Stockholder and Processor. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our friendly, valued team.
Description
Optima Metal Services are looking to recruit a Production Co-ordinator to lead on all aspects of production, including Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental improvements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the smooth running of the production shift on a daily basis.
- Drive long term production and factory improvements.
- Reporting into the Operations Manager.
- Handson production management in a fastpaced environment
- Responsible for direct team members.
- Accountability for the team's delivery against all departmental KPi's, highlighting potential risks and identifying solutions.
- Responsible for health & safety, quality, resources and waste reduction.
- Managing and coaching production team to be highly effective in their roles.
- Review areas to reduce spend but keep maintaining high quality standards.
- Motivate and supervise the team daytoday.
- Deliver shift briefs, with focus on quality, cost and delivery of product.
- Strategic direction and work priorities for the continuous improvement of management systems.
- Advise management on health, safety, quality and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into daytoday processes and operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must be a handson Production Coordinator.
- Have previous experience of working in manufacturing and managing teams.
- Good understanding of technical and quality aspects of production.
- Open to change and improvement.
- Knowledge and understanding of production and equipment i.e., changeovers & setups.
- Able to multitask, be reliable, organised and flexible in approach.
- Knowledge and experience of health & safety, waste reduction, cost & product control.
- Ownership of Health and Safety to ensure full compliance of the teams within a fast paced area of manufacturing. To ensure that all work is carried out safely within the agreed deadlines and effect contingency plans where necessary.
- Ensure adherence to production plans and agreed deadlines through accurate forecasting and regular analysis of data, taking actions or providing recommendations in order to improve performance
- Work with various departments of the organisation to achieve lean best practice while maintaining the company's ethical working standards.
- Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills with a focus on team building
